The Memorial Meetings of Our Three Beloved Brothers Who Had Given Their Lives to the Lord for the Sake of the Gospel of the Kingdom

Their faithfulness in service and their absoluteness in consecration before the Lord and towards the saints should become a pattern for all of us.

For my husband and me, it was a privilege that we could serve with our brothers since last year 2006 to our target city, Tallinn. Therefore, I do feel that I need to share something concerning our brothers.

Our testimony

We can testify that our two brothers Sergey and Victor always did things through fellowship. They never initiated anything without proper fellowship with the Body. They really cared for the Body and the Lord’s interest on the earth. One time, for the preparation of GMR 2007, they needed to help us prepare 14 items. Even we ourselves didn’t realize so much needed to be done, but they just took it from the Lord. Never complaining, they were always ready to serve and to outpour themselves for the Lord’s sake. Although they were working brothers, their hearts were towards Zion.  We had spent a whole month together for the gospel move.  That was a time that we felt the oneness and one accord strongly with us and the Lord added the saved ones to us.  The coordination among us was so sweet and easy mainly because our brothers were fully consecrated persons.

To serve with this kind of person was really a big enjoyment for us. We really miss them and their portion in the Body. In the past month, we had seen that the Lord perfected our brothers in their releasing of the truth, in their shepherding and in so many aspects. Thank the Lord for giving us such an opportunity to serve with them. They were faithful to the end and the Lord took them as His overcomers for His enjoyment.  Our young brother Victor was taken on his 20th birthday, a young vessel full of the gospel. At this young age, he was fully consecrated for the move of the great wheel.

He was the one who helped us mail hundreds of invitation letters to Rhema’s contacts in Estonia and Latvia. For the 2007 GMR, though he was in his final examinations, he helped us print out thousands of flyers for distribution. He also traveled every weekend to help us for the gospel. He was always ready to help and always submitted himself to the decision of the brothers. The faith of his parents surely was in him to charge him to serve the Lord in this way.

After that Sunday’s meeting (11th Feb.), they were full of joy, and on their way back to Riga in the car they sang two hymns; one is below:

Our consecration

1        Loving You Lord’s all I’m living for.

Loving You, Lord, to the uttermost.

Lord forgive me if I’ve left my first love,

That’s the bridal love for You.

You are more than anyone I love.

You are more than anything I have,

Even my dear self.

Nothing can compare to my beloved Bridegroom.

I give You the first place in all things by faith.

Let nothing take Your place in all my heart

        Infuse me with Yourself abundantly

        ‘Till we meet dear Lord

I’ll love You with my best love.

2        You’ve the right to take all that I love

But replace it with Yourself much more

You are what I need

Give Yourself to me

Do not give all that I want

Everything is sure to pass away

Everyone is going their own way

But I still have You and You have me too

Loving one another’s sweet.

3        I treasure my time alone with You

Just to gain the best love You long for

My dearest Husband

Draw me with Yourself into Your chambers right now.

Be the first in all my work and life

Be the first in all my service too

In relationships You must be the first

Have preeminence in me.

And, in their topmost experience with the Lord in sharing God’s work and participating with God’s move, suddenly, the Lord took them away. Amen! May the Lord make us the same as our brothers, faithful to the end!

The testimonies of their families and saints

Ivan’s testimony (young Victor’s father)

With those brothers, we came out together from the denomination and we were all together at the very beginning of the church life in Riga .The loss of the three of them was the same equal loss for me. Those two brothers were the pillars in the church of Riga . We spent more time with each other than with our families. All of you who know Sergey have received help from him personally. You all know what kind of person he was among you. The older Victor did shepherd my son, young Victor when he was a teenager by spending time together with him every Sunday after meeting in order to help him to be equipped with the truth.

One brother from Germany

Young Victor gave up his break from school to be in Tallinn for the gospel’s move. His greatest pleasure was the gospel. He also had such a heart to serve the saints. He always took care of me whenever I came to Riga, staying up late to wait for
me, escorting me to the train station, taking care of whatever needs I had.

One brother from Riga

For a young man like Victor, he could have been gained by the world. However, he served the Lord and the saints. He used his free time for the church life. I feel that his passing away should become a strong reminder to all his other brothers in flesh, who have become somehow not so active in the church life. All of us must rise up and awake, we should pursue the Lord.

Renata’s testimony (Victor’s wife)

My husband was a consecrated person. In his whole life, he consecrated himself several times. As I know, he consecrated his marriage to the Lord and for the Body.  Victor never did anything which he didn’t understand. For example, I had the desire to go to the fulltime training in Moscow right after our wedding, but Victor didn’t agree because he was not clear at that time. However, we did go to the training after he was fully clear in the Lord. He was a person fully and absolutely for the Lord when he realized and understood what was God’s will. After coming back from Tallinn , he lost the desire to work. He told me that his heart remained in Tallinn . He wanted to study English and Chinese, and spend more time with the saints. Dear saints, I urged you not to have any doubt in your heart to the Lord on this matter.   I am fully assured that all are under God’s will.  We need to give ourselves to the Lord. I also hope that my children will be like their father, giving themselves fully for the Lord.

Our brother Victor was my classmate. He preached the gospel to me and prayed for me for many years so that my family could get into the church life. Victor and Renata open their home for meeting and also shepherd my wife and me by studying Life-study messagse once a week together continually. I can testify that their faithfulness in the Lord help many of us to grow in life.

One married sister from Estonia

When I was in the full time training with our brother Victor and Renata, I still remembered how our brother taught me to preach the gospel; he loved God’s word and loved the saints. I was touched that these two brothers’ wives consecrated their husbands to leave them and their children a month for the sake of the gospel. They are such a pattern to me.

One brother from Moscow

I was in the full time training with Victor and Renata. I personally received a lot of shepherding from this brother; they were considered as very upstanding trainees in the training center. Many people received shepherding from them.

Zhana’s testimony (Sergey’s wife)

I want to testify that in this past week, I experience the reality of the Body of Christ and the support of the Body. Concerning Sergey, he is a loving and caring husband and father. We came out from the denomination at the same time and right away we touched the sweetness of the church life. In these past 10 years, I realized that my husband’s growth in life was much faster than mine and his relationship with the Lord was so intimate and fresh. I am surprised that during the morning time, I need to spend one hour to get filled by the Lord, but he could spend only 15 minutes and was already touched the Lord and filled by the Spirit. On the third weekend’s seminars, the Lord released me to visit Tallinn, and Sergey drove me back after Sunday’s seminars and came back Tallinn on Tuesday again. I was touched by Victor’s word.

Although Victor had been away from  home almost two weeks, when I invited him to go back with us, in his eyes, I could see he would like to see his wife and children.  However, he just sat down on the sofa and said: “I am a slave of Christ.” Therefore, he felt he had no freedom, and he stayed in Tallinn. Although Sergey worked very hard everyday, he never missed any church meetings and any coordination meetings with the brothers. He always made himself available for the church life. In our family, our children always waited for their father to return home, no matter how late it was, and to sit together with him in our kitchen and drink tea together was our great pleasure. Sergey shared concerning the overcomers during his last period of life, especially to the seekers in Tallinn, which is also my enjoyment through my reading of the Bible. Dear saints, I want to encourage all of us to prepare ourselves, to make ourselves ready to become the overcomers, to answer the Lord’s calling in Revelation for his second coming.

Saints from Riga

Sergey is a very tender and sweet brother. In his home meeting, I received a lot of shepherding from him. Through his asking question, and our mutual answering, we all got into the truth together. He always cared for me by driving me back home after the meeting.

One brother from Riga

I was brought in the church life through the shepherding of our brother Sergey. He called me by phone and encouraged me. Our brothers were so faithful for the Lord.  We all should rise up to follow the footprint of our brothers, to give ourselves to the Lord to participate in God’s move.

Solvita’s husband’s testimony

(Solvita is the sole survivor of that car accident)

I worked together with Victor and Sergey more than 10 years. I can testify that we never quarreled with one another. Actually, Sergey was fully exhausted after one month’s spiritual warfare, and he felt himself not well at the time. However, he told me that he must go to Tallinn this weekend again. He was excited that the Lord released the truth concerning Babylon versus Jerusalem through the brothers’ (he and Victor) speaking in the past weekend to the seekers in Tallinn . I asked him to invite my wife to go together since she has visited Tallinn several weekends.

That Sunday I was waiting for their returning home. Usually, my wife called me to inform me where they were from time to time. However, that night there were no phone calls at all. I was worried and prayed to the Lord for their safety and tried to call them but their phones were turned off. Eventually, I got to talk to my wife and I knew that they had been in a car accident. I prayed to Lord to keep their lives. However, the Lord told me that you should not be so selfish, I also need them. Saints, I am assured that even if our brothers had known what would happen on their way back, they would still have gone to Tallinn without any regret and hesitation, and I also would encourage my wife to go with them. They are overcomers, the Lord took them. Amen!

The memorial meeting was full of resurrection life and also fully of the glory of God. I am impressed by the footnote in Matthew. In Matthew 26:8 footnotes #1 says, “Throughout the past twenty centuries thousands of precious lives, heart treasures, high positions, and golden futures have been “wasted” upon the Lord Jesus. To those who love Him in such a way He is altogether lovely and worthy of their offering. What they have poured upon Him is not a waste but a fragrant testimony of His sweetness.” Our three brothers were like a grain of wheat, which falls into the ground and dies; if it dies, it bears much fruit. (John 12:24)

After the meeting, we went to visit Solvita, who is now in the hospital in Riga. She was just full of joy, smiling all the time. She even told our new ones from Tallinn that as long as she can stand up and walk, she would go to Tallinn again. What a faith! I didn’t feel any shadow of death in her speaking. She is bold in her spirit and concern about the seekers in Tallinn. She keeps on asking me, how about our weekend meeting. She testified that she was in a terrible condition several days ago, she couldn’t even move. However, the power of resurrection operates in her and she now is much better. We still need to pray for her recovery. She broke her shoulder, pelvis and ribs. We do hope that she can fully recover and her family and three children will be fully taken care of. Praise the Lord for our sister!

Please pray for the families and the move in Tallinn :

  1. They can continually stand firm in the Body and remain in the church life.
  2. The Lord will cover all their needs through the rich supply of the Body.
  3. The saints in Riga will become mothers and fathers to their children so that the Lord through the Body will comfort the young hearts.
  4. Their wives can be protected in the Body and can experience Christ as their real husband and the church as their real family and home.
  5. The seekers in Tallinn would not be affected by this matter. Also pray for the continuation in Tallinn . Pray for their growth in life.
